Top Saxophone Songs for Weddings

There’s nothing quite like the sound of the saxophone - it’s instantly recognisable, and produces a beautiful sound that can capture the attention of all your guests. Picking the right songs that work for your wedding can be tricky, but today’s blog is here to help!

After playing 100s of weddings with my sax, I thought I would put together a little compilation of sax songs that always work at weddings - whether it’s for the ceremony, drinks reception or getting everyone dancing at your evening’s reception!

One of the best things about the saxophone is its flexibility - there’s very few genres or styles it doesn’t work with - making it a perfect choice for weddings, as there’s usually a wide array of tunes and styles to cover.

Another awesome thing about saxophone is the fact that it can be used in a variety of different lineups and configurations. For example, during the daytime, it can work perfectly with backing tracks for the drinks reception or ceremony, with the saxophone playing the beautiful melodies of your favourite songs. Or the saxophone can pair really well with a vocalist, guitarist or pianist to create a more of a live atmosphere in a small ensemble or duo.

It also works really well for the evening’s proceedings, working with DJs to create an ibiza style sax feel, (sometimes known as party sax or Sax and DJ.) Saxophones have also been a huge part of bands in popular music, and blend perfectly with soul, motown and funk bands alongside other brass instruments!

I’ve also created a spotify playlist so you can listen to these tunes as you read through the blog!

Wedding ceremony song ideas for saxophone

Can’t Help Falling In Love  - Elvis Presley

This never fails to be a crowd pleaser. All ages know it, and the melody is just beautiful - this is a perfect song to walk down the aisle to! If you’re looking for a more modern twist - the Haley Reinhart version is beautiful, too!

If I Ain’t Got You - Alicia Keys

A lovely romantic song, I love performing this for the signing of the register as I think the lyrics are the perfect accompaniment for it!

Marry You - Bruno Mars

Bruno Mars has written some absolute classics over the years, but this is still one of my favourites to play on saxophone - everyone usually ends up humming the words as I’m playing it!

I Get to Love You - Ruelle

The lines of this song are so beautiful when played on saxophone! It’s really delicate song with a lot of meaning behind the words, it’s a perfect (the perfect!) song to walk down the aisle to!

Signed, Sealed, Delivered (I’m Yours) - Stevie Wonder

A perfect choice to exit the ceremony area, this song is upbeat and fun and works really well as you’re being cheered back out the room as a married couple!

Drinks reception song ideas for saxophone

Isn’t She Lovely - Stevie Wonder

Okay, okay, another Stevie Wonder song! He’s just got so much appeal across ages - and guests heading the melody of this song never fail to hum or sing along to their loved ones!

You’re Still the One - Shania Twain

A less obvious choice, but trust me - this works really well! Everyone loves a bit of Shania, and the melody works really well on sax!

Better Half of Me - Tom Walker

A really sweet song (and a bit less of an obvious choice for drinks receptions) it’s another song that never fails to get people humming along whilst they’re chatting away during the drinks reception!

Flowers - Miley Cyrus

I know it’s a breakup song - but trust me - this one gets people singing and moving along! It’s actually one my favourite to play because it’s an absolute banger and the melody sounds really good on the sax!

Can’t Stop the Feeling - Justin Timberlake

It’s just a really fun upbeat song, that’s fun for everyone - including kids! Let’s face it - all tunes by Justin Timberlake are bangers, but this one is my favourite to play!

Wedding breakfast saxophone song ideas

A Thousand Years - Christina Perri

Just like with I Get to Love You by Ruelle mentioned above - this is just a gorgeous melody to play. It’s a good conversation starter for guests too - they might recognise the melody but not known the song without the words!

Everything - Michael Buble

I’m just a big fan of Michael Buble and this is a really great song to get people moving in their seats whilst they’re enjoying some great food!

Fly me to the moon - Frank Sinatra

A great song that shows the versatility of the sax with the amount of genres it can work in, and something to please the older guests at your wedding!

At Last - Etta James

This song can work really well as a ceremony song, or even a first dance too, but I always find it works well in wedding breakfasts sets as it’s such a crowd pleaser!

Perfect - Ed Sheeran

Another song that can work really well at the different parts of your wedding - but works particularly well for the wedding breakfast as it’s one people always recognise!

Ibiza chill sax songs

If you’re looking for something different, ibiza chill can work really well for drinks receptions or wedding breakfasts, or room turnaround. Just imagine you’re sat by the pool with a cocktail in your hand, watching the sunset - that’s the kind of vibe Ibiza chill is!

Waves - Mr Probs and Robin Schulez

This song literally feels like you’re sitting on the beach - and it’s a bit of a throwback tune that people love!

Ain’t Nobody (Loves Me Better) - Felix Jaehn and Jasmine Thompson

The Chaka Khan version will always have my heart but this is a great chilled out version that feels like you’re at a resort abroad!

Dancing in the Moonlight - Jubel (feat neimy)

The original song is still a banger but people always love this version - it’s just got a chilled vibe to it.

Sun Goes Down - Robin Schulz

This chilled dance tune has a really catchy saxophone tag in it and is perfect for getting everyone towards that party mode!

Fast Car - Jonas Blue ft dakota

It’s another great cover in the ibiza chill genre and it’s one that everyone will know, young and old!

First dance Sax songs

Why not check out my 47 first dance ideas if you need some more inspiration? I thought I’d include a couple of first dances that work really well with saxophone here, too!

All of Me - John Legend - Tiesto Birthday Remix

The original song is a beautiful tribute to John Legend’s wife, Chrissy Teigan, and is relatable for couples the world over. However this version is a little bit more upbeat if you’re feeling a little nervous about performing your first dance - as your saxophonist can help get everyone together on the dance floor!

Came Here for Love - Sigala

I’ve included this one as this worked really well for a wedding I played recently. The couple started off with the slower, more acoustic version, and got their DJ to transition the song into the original party version as the guests came onto the dance floor with me (and my sax!)

I Could Get Used to This - Becky Hill

This song is another tune that is a bit of a party song, but also works really well as a first dance with sax!

Sax songs after the first dance to get everyone on the dancefloor

Coming out of your first dance, it’s always a good point to get all your guests gathered round you for the party as you start the party part of the evening! Here’s some classics that never fail to keep everyone on the dancefloor!

Jubel - klingande

This really has the full ibiza party sax feel to it - you and your guests will be transported straight to the feel good tunes of the famous island. A lot of people call this song ‘Save Me’ when they ask me or the DJ for it!

Freed From Desire - gala

This is a 90s dance tune that works a treat! It works really well with saxophone, too, and it’s one that people love to sing along to!

Show Me Love - robin s

Another 90s dance classic, guaranteed to get everyone on the dance floor!

Pump It Up - endor

I would recommend a shortened version of this - the original track is quite long - but it does get everyone excited and in the party mood!

Head and Heart - joel corry x mnek

A more modern song for the ibiza sax genre, this is a really fun song that works really well after first dances!

Ibiza Sax party songs

There’s so many ibiza sax party songs, but these are some of the best ones!

Destination Calabria - Alex Gaudino feat crystal waters

Sometimes known as ‘Destination Unknown’ due to the songs’ lyrics, this is an absolute classic and playing the sax part live is always super fun!

Mr Saxobeat - alexandra stan

Can you get any more ibiza sax than a song literally called “Mr Saxobeat?” This song never fails to get everyone dancing!

Friday - riton, nightcrawlers

This is a song about continuing the party across the weekend - but it works any day of the week, as far as I’ve found!

Intoxicated - martin solveg & gta

Let’s danceeeeee! This never fails to get everyone dancing - and works really well if you’ve got a bongo player alongside your saxophonist too - as this song is alllll about the percussion!

Million Voices - otto knows

This is a song many people don’t know the name of - they just know the ‘eh eh eh, ah ah ah’ bit of it, but it will get people going crazy to the awesome beat!

How much do wedding saxophonists cost?

This can vary depending on the experience of the sax player, how far they’re travelling, what part of the day you’d like them to perform for. I can tell you my prices start around £500 for the daytime or for the evening party part of the evening!

I hope you’ve enjoyed this guide on the top wedding saxophone songs. This is by no means an exhaustive list, there’s so many more songs out there! If you need any help with playlists or choosing songs, please don’t hesitate to contact me, I’m always happy to chat about all things wedding related!
