About
Saxophonique
My mission is to slowly take over the world one party at a time.
Haha no no, actually it’s not. I’m here to create the most fun and high energy party you can imagine for your special event!
Think fireball shots straight after your first dance (obvs whilst I’m playing fireball by Pitbull), sweating so much your makeup starts to run (yep I have witnessed this) and your Uncle Paul raving about your party for months after!
My name is Cat, and here at Saxophonique we like to do things a little bit differently.
And by we, I mean me. I am the we.
I’ve always wondered why I never really fit in, and having recently found out I have ADHD everything makes a LOT more sense. So, I’ve decided to take that and use it to my advantage. I have so much love, care and energy to give (and maybe some chaos thrown in) and I think this gives me the perfect potion to really take weddings, birthday parties and corporate events to the next level.
The hyper-focus set in on the saxophone when I was a lot younger and I refined my craft over the years, eventually ending up graduating from the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester. This gave me a great foundation for starting my saxophone career playing at weddings, parties and many corporate events.
I want to bring my experience and skills to every event I play for, to give you the best party possible!
So let’s take it back to the beginning…
I officially started Saxophonique back in 2018 after a good few years of playing for weddings with function bands on my spare weekends whilst studying at uni. At the time, the public had only really heard of Lovely Laura and Ellie Sax: having ‘Ibiza Sax’ at weddings was not really a thing yet - it was mainly bars and clubs at this point in time!
I was asked to audition for another Sax and DJ agency which meant I needed to come up with a brand name, some photos and a little slogan (to this day I still cannot remember what I picked - obviously super memorable)! Unfortunately, their contract just wasn’t for me as I worked for so many different people and was also a consultant for a wedding band, but now I had this cool name and some photos. So, I just thought ‘why not set up an instagram account’ and see where it goes!
The experience of being a band consultant for 5 years, nurturing relationships with my clients, fellow musicians and liaising with venues and planners really put me in a great position to build my own business to what it is today.
I am so incredibly lucky to call this my day job and I now have my mum, Carol, helping me on the admin side of things. When enquiring and planning your event we’ll be able to answer any question and help guide you to plan the best party possible.
Fun fact: I also used to be a social media manager for the band I was consultant for (plus their Scotland branch too!!) - it was like a full time job in itself and I had a love-hate relationship with it. I love social media when I get on a roll with it, but I hate how much time it takes to make content that will potentially just flop!!
In 2021, I ended up having 2 years worth of bookings crammed into one Summer (thanks Covid) and more and more people saw me playing my sax at weddings, outdoor festivals, corporate parties, birthdays and anniversaries alike! I feel like people not being able to travel abroad to see their favourite Ibiza Sax players meant that more and more people wanted to bring Ibiza Sax to the UK instead - and I was SO here for it!
Fast forward to 2024 (nearly 2025 where has this year gone?!?!?!) and I am loving life driving here, there and everywhere for events up and down the country (and occasionally flying abroad too)! I am trying to figure out a better work/life balance so that I can be refreshed for each event and be able to give my all on performances, as well as being able to build some beautiful relationships with my clients. I do try to keep in touch once your big day has passed, as I often find that my clients turn into friends for life (and I’m a nosy parker)!
I do take sax bookings in advance (no waiting lists here!) so if you have a date in mind please let me know - my 2025 Summer is almost at full capacity and 2026 is filling up nicely. Obviously week days and off-peak season I have more availability so if you’re looking to hire a sax player then don’t be afraid to get in touch <3
If you’re wanting to split the cost over a period of time I also offer different payment plans, so again, feel free to get in touch!
I am able to add more musicians and DJs onto my bookings, so if you’re after a mega party, or super chilled daytime vibes then just let me know and we can chat all things music and ideas for your big day. I also DJ myself, so there is another option for me to DJ and play the sax for you in the evening! (Or daytime, you do you hun!)
How I can bring the sparkle and the energy to your party!
Let’s chat everything wedding and party related, and between us, we’ll create a day or night your guests won’t forget!
With my range of add-ons that can be added at anytime, let’s go EXTRA with the plans!
I know what tunes work to get everyone on the dancefloor - everyone from your grandparents to the youngest guests!
Lots of happy clients who remain friends - just see the kind words they left for me here.
Okay okay, let’s talk about the outfits. You have a choice between sequins and sequins (or maybe a colour theme or two for corporate or daytime events)
I’ll have everyone up on their feet - you’ll get your 10,000 steps in dancing with me!
