here’s 10 of my favourite cheshire venues!
I’ve played 100s of venues across Cheshire - here’s 10 of my favourites!
Today I thought I’d do a run through of some of my favourite wedding venues across the lovely area of Cheshire. It’s a really popular spot for weddings, and there’s so many amazing venues to choose from - narrowing it down to just 10 was really hard!
1.) Old Palace Chester
It’s hard to find a venue that’s more central to Chester than Old Palace! This is a gorgeous venue, set behind the roman ruins in centre of the town, with stunning views across the Dee River. The venue has plenty of rooms on offer for utilising music for different parts of the day - an incredible front porch that is perfect for musicians to entertain your guests for the drinks reception, a sizeable room for the wedding breakfast, and plenty of room to party in the later part of the evening! Having a couple of different rooms available for your guests means there’s space for them to catch up between live music sets, and have a drink and a catch up! If you’re after something a little bit different, you can also have a trip on ChesterBoat for an hour or so - a great idea for photos and memories of your special day!

2.) Merrydale Manor
Set just outside of the lovely Cheshire town of Knutsford, Merrydale Manor is a breathtaking venue. It has a dedicated Ceremony room set in the surrounding Cheshire countryside which can really help set the start of your day off with something special! Encompassing the stunning red Cheshire sandstone throughout the different buildings, there’s plenty of rooms and space for the different parts of your day. The enclosed garden is perfect for live music during the summer months for a sunny drinks reception, too. The main room used for the wedding breakfast and evening reception has plenty of space for guests to eat, followed by the party later on in the evening, and features a dedicated bar not too far from the dance floor!

3.) Sandhole Oak Barn
With a stunning lake set in front of the beautiful Cheshire farm buildings, Sandhole Oak Barn is sure to impress your guests. The venue features plenty of accommodation to host your wedding party, and is nearby to Congleton for other guests. For the summer months, there’s the option of getting married outside under the stunning pergola, and the gardens are perfect for having some daytime wedding sax during the drinks reception! For the later parts of the day, the main room is perfect for parties - and the bar is practically on the dance floor, meaning your guests only have a short walk to get their next drink!!

4.) Colshaw Hall Country Estate
Located just outside of Knutsford, Colshaw Hall is a beautiful Grade II listed exclusive venue. With its stunning Japanese style gardens and lake, it’s certainly a venue to impress your guests! The Stables at the venue are a dedicated ceremony room, (perfect for my ceremony packages!) and the Peel Suite in the main building is an amazing spot to host your evening’s reception. With loads of space on the dancefloor when the room is turned into the party space, it’s perfect for the full evening sax experience, and works especially well for DJs too as there’s an elevated stage for them to use!
5.) Heaton House Farm
Located just outside of Macclesfield, Heaton House Farm sits on a hill with lovely views across the nearby town. Again this venue has plenty of space and opportunities for live music, but works particularly well for the evening party - as the venue has a dedicated stage that you can use! This means whether you’re having a live band, or a DJ with Sax - your guests can clearly see the performers and makes it a perfect space to really get the evening’s party going!

6.) Owen House Wedding Barn
Located just outside of Knutsford, near Mobberly, Owen House Wedding barn is located in the heart of the Cheshire countryside. It has 18 rooms on offer for your guests, and nearby accommodation is also available in Knutsford! The venue itself has plenty of indoor or outdoor space, perfect for some daytime sax, or the full party experience later in the evening in the main room!

7.) Styal Lodge Weddings
Styal Lodge is the perfect canvas for a wedding filled with natural light! The bright, airy ceremony room is the perfect spot to say your vows with a stunning background of the nearby gardens. It’s perfect for live music as you walk down the aisle, and there’s plenty of spaces for having entertainment during the drinks reception. The lovely main room is just as wonderful at night and is the perfect space to kick the night off for the evening reception!
8.) Wrenbury Hall
Located just outside Nantwich, this stunning Cheshire venue offers a secluded setting within the beautiful grounds. You’ve got the choice of an indoor or outdoor ceremony (weather dependant -obviously!) as well as a large choice of rooms to host your guests. In the evening, The Orangerie can be transformed into the perfect party space, ready for the party of your lives!

9.) Capesthorne Hall
Set in 100 acres of breathtaking Cheshire countryside, Capesthorne Hall is a beautiful stately home that can become your ideal exclusive venue. Picturesque gardens set this venue apart for summer weddings; and with plenty of space indoors, it’s cosy and inviting in the winter months too! Again this venue accommodates indoor or outdoor ceremonies depending on your plans, and has plenty of space indoors for the evening party, too!
10.) Nunsmere Hall
Situated just outside of Nantwich in Delamere Forest, this country house hotel has a 60 acre lake and is perfectly situated within the rural parts of Cheshire. This venue can accommodate both small and large weddings, as well as twilight packages - perfect if you’re just looking for something for the evening of your wedding! The crystal suite is perfect for saying your ‘I do’s’ and there’s also the option of having your ceremony outside during the summer months. For hosting the evening reception, you have the choice of Brocklebank or the marquee for large parties during the evening!
I hope you’ve enjoyed this little run-through of some of my favourite wedding venues in Cheshire. This is by no means an extensive list - I’m sure I’ll be doing a part 2 at some point to cover even more of the fantastic places in this lovely county!
